Allie Aufderheide 6th Grade Teacher Hello Families!
My name is Allie Aufderheide. I am a 6th grade homeroom teacher here at Cherry and I teach Science to all 5th and 6th graders. I love teaching science, especially when engaging students with outdoor learning. In addition to our curriculum, we have a couple exciting 'real-world' science opportunities throughout the school year: students raise rainbow trout from egg to fingerling to release through the Trout in the Classroom program; and students compile outdoor animal, plant, and weather observation data into Phenology reports, which play weekly on local radio. I grew up in the twin cities metro area and graduated from St. Olaf College in 2016 with my Bachelor's degree. I decided to pursue teaching several years later and worked towards receiving my K-6 License and Master's degree from the University of St. Thomas, while starting my education career in St. Paul. In 2023, I took a job at Cherry and moved to the Iron Range area. Since then, I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Cherry community and living in my new northern surroundings! I currently live in Chisholm with my husband, Isaac, and our two dogs, Olive and Nina. Outside of school, I love to do anything artistic or outdoors: sewing and fiber crafts, running, cross-country skiing, canoeing, camping, and much more! I also fill my free time with home projects and gardening. Please feel free to reach out anytime through email. aaufderheide@isd2142.k12.mn.us |
