Gentle Chair Stretching (via Zoom or in-person)
Instructor: Holly Niehaus
This class will be geared towards those who need gentle motions and movements to help enhance balance, coordination, strength, and flexibility. Participants will use the support of a chair for optimal
stability. We will explore movements to help circulate joints and safely stretch muscles, while also building strength. Staying comfortable while stretching is top priority, so variations and options for poses and movements are always shown. Adjustments for motions can be made for individual needs. If you are looking for a careful, sensitive approach, please join us virtually via Zoom or in-person at South Ridge Fitness Center. Everyone is welcome! This class will be taught by Holly Niehaus, 500 RYT and Whole Being Well Being Yoga-Certified.

Twining (Rug Weaving)
Instructor: Deb Grangruth
Twining is a historical art form very similar to weaving with a braided texture. This technique is done on a 28”x48” portable pegged loom with cotton material (recycled bedsheets are perfect). The process is incredibly helpful for relaxing and stress relief and is therapeutic for the hands. This is a beginner’s class; the final product will be a 28”x48” sized rug, but options for smaller projects are available. Students may take looms home over the class period with a $20 deposit paid to Deb, refundable upon return of the loom at the last class. Some materials (fabric) will be available for purchase, or students can coordinate colors by providing their own fabric (4-6 bedsheets or 12 yards of fabric). Additional supplies you need to bring to class include scissors, needle and thread (any color), safety pins and straight pins (just a few of each), seamstress tape measure, gallon-size zip lock bags (just a few), sharpie marker (any color), and the desire to be creative! Ages 18 and older.
Wednesdays, Oct. 23 through Nov. 27; 6:00-8:00 P.M. Register by Oct. 19
Room 175A
