Marie Freitas grew up and graduated in Blaine, MN. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, her special education teaching license from Walden University, and her Master of Music in Music Education from Kent State University. Her main instrument is trumpet. Marie teaches 5th grade band, 6th grade band, junior high band, senior high band, lessons, jazz band, and guitar. She is married, has two children, and five fur children.  2022 - 2023 Band Performances Bayfield Apple Festival Parade in Bayfield, WI Saturday, October 9th This parade will feature the Senior High Band only. The band will travel to Bayfield, WI and spend the day exploring vendors and eating delicious food. The festival culminates with the Grand Parade, featuring a mass band with 400 band members playing On Wisconsin marching down historic Rittenhouse Avenue, to Lake Superior.
Saturday, October 29th - 2 pm This parade will feature the Senior High Band only. The band will dress in costumes and march in this Halloween themed parade. Afterwards the students will enjoy food, live music, and fall activities.
Saturday, November 19th - 5:15 pm This parade will feature the Junior High and Senior High Bands. We will march down Chestnut Street in downtown Virginia decorated in as many lights as possible. Tuesday, December 6th - 6 pm (5th and 6th grades) and 7 pm (7th - 12th grades) This concert will feature all of the Cherry Tiger Bands. Music in Our Schools Month Band Concert March 6th - 7 pm This concert will feature the Junior High and Senior High Bands only.
Tuesday, May 2nd - 6 pm (5th and 6th grades) and 7 pm (7th - 12th grades) This concert will feature all of the Cherry Tiger Bands. Enjoy performances of popular music and movie music. |
